Summer in Washington.

Home.
I must admit that I love coming home, but I also have the heart of a gypsy and can't stay in the same place for too long (sorry mom and dad!!!). Bellingham is the best place and this summer it has been full of fun, hard work, thoughts of quitting, decision making, and love.
The original plan this summer was to work at Workskiff for my dad, buuutttt plans always change. I've had to get used to change more often than I would like to. It's an inevitable thing so I've also learned to suck it up and roll with it. I scored a job working at a home that housed 5 developmentally disabled adults. It was the hardest job I've ever done. EVER. There were many days where I wanted to quit because coworkers were driving me nuts or a resident would have a hard day and I didn't know whether or not I could do it. I stuck with it for 3 months and finally had my last day because of vacation and preparing to go back to school. Looking back on it now, I know that it was the best job for me. I have this incredible love for those residents and have become a new and changed person. Each resident taught me something different and gave me this wonderful outlook on life. Because of this job, I now have a nurse's assistant license and can search for more jobs similar to it.
This summer I went through the temple! Not because I'm going on a mission (sorry bout it) or because some guy suddenly wanted to marry me, but because I was ready and because I wanted to do it for me. Best decision I ever made people, I can tell you that for sure. My attitude, my quality of life, and me as a person has changed significantly and I feel more myself than ever. The temple rocks and so does having a testimony of the gospel and of Jesus Christ.
My family and I had some fun activities in the four short months I was here. Sullivan James Clark was born and I experienced the whole thing. He never stops smiling and I love having a nephew more than anything. We went strawberry picking and Baylie and Robert stayed for a little bit. Speaking of... Robert got engaged and then married in August to his perfect other half. I've never met a more in sync couple than those two. 4th of July was hoppin'!! That is by far my most favorite holiday and I'm so glad I was home for it. My friend Meg visited me for a weekend and I showed her around Bellingham and introduced her to Kombucha. I chopped off all my hair because frankly, anything past my shoulders drives me nuts and I like short hair. I went on trek with my home stake and loved every minute of it!! Trek was my absolute favorite when I was 15 and I'm sure its a contributing factor as to why I am so strong in the church. We ventured to Utah to see Robert get married. I saw some of my favorite friends while I was down there, went to Sodalicious, and partied at the Ivins Party House. I got another toe ring haha and added to my very decorated hands with another ring. The best part was seeing my brother be sealed. We're pretty close and I'm so glad he's happy. I finally got to go back to the fair!!! It was so sad missing it last year, but I made up for it by judging photos in 4-H and working with the goats and in the 4-H barn.
I made the decision to head back to Rexburg early. I tried to leave 2 weeks before I actually went but walked out on a flat tire. After deciding to wait another week, I ended up getting the stomach flu. That delayed me until the next week. Someone did not want me to go back to Rexburg so soon and I am very grateful for that because I got to spend some extra time making money and being with my family. I do love Idaho though and am glad I'm back. Summers in Idaho are my favorite and I'm excited to see my friends again!! I had a hard time adjusting to life at home, but settled in just fine with my family after time. There's a big difference between the Mormon bubble and normal places. I have missed the bubble and don't mind it at all. It may not be realistic, but it feels like home to me and for that I am very grateful.
Here's to a great and tough summer! I wouldn't have it any other way.
Enjoy! and thanks for following along through my crazy life. Living the rest of my teenage days with attitude and adventure, don't wait up for me!

My dad always took a photo of my grandma in the kitchen on the Fourth of July, so I decided to continue that with my mom in the same kitchen.

Before you say anything, hear me out. My aunt taught us how to smoke smokewood when we were younger and it's something I do once a year.
