Yesterday I got the amazing opportunity of speaking at my stake's young women's camp. My young women's leader in my ward was appointed to organize a traditional event that is had every year on the first night of camp. This is called the faith walk. The girls travel around to different destinations around camp and at each spot they hear a special message from those that are speaking. The theme for the walk was "light". I spoke on "the light of Christ" and how we can obtain it. I loved speaking with the girls and getting to see their beautiful lights shine. They don't need makeup or materialistic things because they are beautiful all on their own. They have this wonderful gospel that they hold so dearly to them. They come unto Christ and through His love they let the light of Christ shine for others to see. One thing I mentioned to these beautiful daughters of God was a quote that I learned while I was at EFY, "He won't if you don't believe". In this statement is so much power and truth. If we don't put our trust in Christ and indulge in His great works, then he can't help us and allow us to work through our trials diligently without His great plan and Him in general. We need Him.
In the last part of my talk, we ventured along the trail until we were in an area where there was seating below and the girls could look up to a hill. On the hill I had my two awesome brothers help me to recreate the Hill Cumorah pageant. My brother Bryce was Moroni and my brother Robert was Joseph Smith. It was really cool to have them there and help me out and show the girls such an awesome event in Church History.
I loved spending time at Cascade Park with such beautiful daughters of God, two awesome brothers, and a ton of wonderful leaders who put so much work into this wonderful week. I enjoyed the spirit that was there and that was carried by these wonderful Young Women. I'm thankful for them and I love them!
