Sometimes you just need to go on a drive to get goats' milk from a lady in Maple Falls on a Sunday.
Well actually we do, that is my mom and I.
Mom said she needed to go all the way to Mount Baker to get goats' milk for our bottle baby goat kid, so I told her I'd tag along, and I'm so glad I did. We went to Silver Lake after we got the milk and she showed me where she went horse camping way back when and she showed me the little lake.
Silver Lake itself is actually disgusting and my mom told me that there are leaches in the water that will give you swimmers itch, so that's really nice. BUT the area was beautiful especially on a cloudy day like yesterday. I brought my camera of course and took some pictures of whatever caught my eye.
We walked to the small dock where all the boats are tied and we leaned over the swimmers ladder. It was a grand time. After, we walked a cool bridge to a fireplace and wood canopy that my mom fell in love with. Now she wants to build one so we can go glamping in our backyard. Haha! I think my dad is actually going to do it for her...
The last place we went was the boat launch and dock to take the last of our pictures and take in the mountains. I love going out for little drives to cool places with my mom (even though we never really do it) but getting to hang out with her is still so fun. I'm really going to miss her when I go off to college next year and experience life without her. Yes I'm a momma's girl.
Enjoy these pictures of our little outing.
